Located just a stone’s throw from the gardens of the Palais Royal, this apartment is in a beautiful 18th-century building. The guideline of this project was to preserve the original volumes and materials of this sublime setting in a listed building, while adding a modern touch.
A Burgundy stone floor with cabochons, preserved and restored, Hungarian parquetthat has regained its original patina, oak doors and windows whose original color hasbeen rediscovered: so many elements that the architects had to match with the newmodernity brought to this apartment.
A kitchen in light oak and Hainaut blue stone perfectly matches the floor. In the living room, a new full-height plaster bookcase frames one of the beautifuldouble doors, and continues into the study, an attractive room furnished with a tableby Axel Einar Hjorth, a beautiful plaster hanging lamp, and an alcove created towelcome a powerful antique torso. In the bedroom, on either side of the canopy bed, two Venetian mirrors in Muranoglass, whose green echoes the choice of color for the curtains, are hung abovelamps by Jacques Pouchain on stools by Carlo Bugatti.
