Located a stone’s throw from the Palais Royal garden, this 75 m² apartment is located in a beautiful building dating from the 18th century. The guideline of this project: keep the original volumes and materials of this sublime setting located in a listed building, while bringing a discreet modernity. Floor in Burgundy stone with cabochons, preserved and restored according to the rules of the art, herringbone parquet flooring preserved in its original patina, doors and windows in oak whose original color has been found: so many elements the architects had to agree with the new modernity brought to this apartment. A kitchen in light oak and Hainaut blue stone blends perfectly with the floor. A large made-to-measure piece of furniture has been created to frame a bench above which hangs a beautiful plaster bas-relief dating from the 1950s. In the living room, a new plaster bookcase, taking place over the height of the apartment, frames one of the beautiful period double doors. In the continuity of this living room, is the office, a pretty room furnished with a table by Axel Einar Hjorth, a beautiful plaster suspension signed by Pierre Augustin Rose, as well as an alcove created to accommodate a powerful antique torso. In the bedroom, on either side of the four-poster bed, two Venetian mirrors in Murano glass, the green of which recalls the choice of color for the curtains, are hung above lamps by Jacques Pouchain enthroned on stools by Carlo Bugatti .
